I think it's awesome we live in a world where a Jewish liberal can zip about town in a Beetle on their way to the studio to use steinberg products!

political labels are funny. Most people I know pick the label they think sounds good, but typically violate the ever shifting core tenants of said position all the time. My ultra liberal tree hugging friend had no trouble finding an exception to her opposition to the death penalty for a particular child murderer. My former Glen Beck loving, tea partying boss is suddenly warming to aspects of Obamacare after receiving a huge medical bill. The massive levels of hypocrisy it takes to attempt 100% adherence to most ideologies is most likely to lead to eventual cognitive dissonance.

Methinks the right is seriously reconsidering the TP, I mean, sure they're reliable, but everybody else finds them distasteful, regular conservatives included. Obama's is policy-wise somewhere to the right of Reagan, and what to do? Be oppositional for opposition's sake? That won't work... 2016 is going to be hella interesting for both parties!

indeed it will, but I'm hoping to be too busy creating beautiful things to get caught up in the drama. On a completely different tangent, I really miss the Amiga OS. It was light years ahead of both Mac and PC at the time. I think both Commodore and Atari had better foresight when it came to the future of music production. unfortunately they both lost the OS wars.

I don't find the TP "distasteful" at all. In fact in many respects they were very similar to Occupy Wall St, only without the Marxist BS, fighting with police, smelly shanty towns, rapes, murders etc. Of course the media did their best to portray them all as racist Christians who want to throw poor people onto a large bonfire etc.

I remember as recently as the late 90's, there was still buzz in the Amiga world about a new OS that was going to blow Windows out of the water and become the new standard. Can't remember the name of it, but of course it never came to anything. I still have an Amiga somewhere back home. I made lots of music on it with OctaMED.

The tea party, like occupy wall street, have nobody but their own members to blame. We live in a world with more media outlets than ever and it's a given that everything is sensationalized and biased. Knowing that,it is more important than ever to weed out the nutjobs that will hog the spotlight and make dumb statements and actions. I have met thoughtful TP folks and unfortunately I have met the racist stereotypical ones too. More reason to focus on other things than politics. In fact, I am sure this thread will get closed if we don't stear it back towards music. lol

Of course there's nutjobs in every political movement. But I've also seen videos of Tea Party events in which lone racist nutjobs were quickly shouted down and told to leave. I did spend some time wandering around the OWS camp in New York when that was at full swing, and it just seemed like nut jobs were ten a penny there. Some of them very openly antisemitic, and there was a lot of talk about violent revolution. I'd been told that it was a totally unpartisan movement that was neither left nor right, but the only literature I saw passed around was of the old school Marxist/socialist/open borders element. I also noticed that the media made an attempt to focus on the nutjob element of the Tea Party, while playing down the same element in OWS.

Obama and I just got watching The Doors Live At The Bowl 68 bought on itunes using my iPod connected to tv. Sounded/looked good but Doors are actually pretty boring live, at least in this concert. We enjoyed Hendrix at Berkeley and Woodstock better. Hendrix at Berkely was great.

Still amazes me how this stuff works regardless if it's apple or some other brand. My devices are apple and were gifts. I didnt ask for them. But they work good and I'm happy.

Hope apple brings some of thier sweat shops to US so we can have some jobs. I read some where that the me Mac pros were supposed to be assembled in the US.

Anyways, I think all these stereo types mentioned above are about as valid as any stereo type. Usually it's just someone bitter about something totally unrelated and a lot of hot air.
