That's very strange. IIRC with Win 7 x64 the BCF needs the Windows driver NOT the Behringer one but maybe a current BCF user can confirm that.

I'm sure that sounds more like a driver issue than anything else. If you're still getting trouble after installing the right driver we can go from there and try other things but it seems very unusual that it works on one bank but not others.

OK. UPDATE.

 1. Upgraded the BCF2000 to latest firmware.
 2. Uninstalled drivers.
 3. Allowed Win 7 to install BCF using it's drivers (I actually spotted this on Blades site)
 4. Fired up X1
 6. Put BCF into Plugin mode with PC enabled.
 7. SAME THING.

First 2 sets of PC parameters work fine but moving across to the next 2 parameters goes all screwy. I don't understand it. The rotaries work fine on the first 2 so I assume it isn't my actual unit. switch over and BOOm, doesn't work correctly.

As I said before, Moving a rotary (such as the Q) on the 2nd set of PC parameters is like switching it on/off. All or nothing, none/v limited increments.

Using it with Sonitus EQ seems to be fine. All I did was copy paste the ini file so I don't think that could have gone wrong.

Maybe something to note. My ini file did not have any PC or Sonitus settings listed in it. I just added all the new code provided i this thread at the end.

(I also tried this on existin projects, new projects, demo projects)
Can anyone else test this with similiar setup please? I have no idea what is going on?

Any suggestions?

I think you're on the right lines this needs testing by someone with a similar set up. Seems a very strange issue.

The only thing that may help in the ini file is the figure that sets the 'step' when you turn a knob. This figure is always after the third comma in a line but if it isn't present at all defaults to a value of 0.05.

To explain further in the line

VPot19=26,spread,0.143,0.142855        ; HPF Slope

the figure in red sets the step as you turn the dial. That's such an odd figure to balance up the knob movement with how the slope dial responds.

Whereas the line

VPot20=22,freq,0.84            ; LPF Freq

doesn't have a 'step' figure so defaults to 0.05.

It may be possible that something has gone awry with your figures in the ini file but I really don't see how as it would affect all banks not just one.

I'm as lost as you TBH. Sorry.

Right. Back from the thread...

So, can anyone with a similiar (i.e x64, Win 7 BCF2000) test this issue for me.

I have discovered that I don't actually have the LPF and HPF controls listed on the BCF view. and cannot control them.

I tried uninstalling the firmware, drivers, re-installing everything. And yet, still, when I step through to the 2/3rd banks on the BCF2000, turning the pots either makes the knob max or min. and some are just really large increments, say 0, then 50% then max.

So FBB are you saying that you can control every PC control with your BCF or are you using a Mackie unit?

ANyone else have any ideas? this is riving me nuts

Hey FBB,

I have been looking at this great page: http://www.chrisboucher.c./cakewalk/mackiecontrol/

I just re-read your original post at teh top of this thread and realized something.

you say: "Copy & Paste the stuff below the line over top of your [Track Eq] & [Bus Eq]"

Now, I copied all the text and pasted it UNDER what was already existing in my MackieControl.ini do you think that my be my issue? my ini file may contain the original settings as default and is fighting the additional parameters I have copied from your post?

I'm at work at the mo so cannot check till later.

It would make some sense as in the parameters you have listed for the PC it goes up to 'vpot 26' so I assume I should have at least 26 vpots working? at present I can only 'bank' across twice on my BCF = 8, 16, 24. if there was 26, surely I would be able to 'bank' across again?

 Brain hurting...

p.s. ****Handy tip here is M4+F1 on the MCU will re-load the ini file so you can make changes and test on the fly......  - Is there a way to do this on the BCF2000?

Hi again.

That definitely won't be helping. I left the original settings in the cut & paste bit but commented them out.

Try deleting the originals in your ini file and see if that cures it.

Ok, cheers FBB.

What about the  "M4+F1 on the MCU will re-load the ini file" that possible on the BCF?

I wouldn't have thought so, that is one of the limitations of the BCF, only the one M key as opposed to 4.

So how do you reload the .ini file if you have made a live change?

Close X1? or restart the BCF?

I guess you need to restart the BCF and I'm pretty sure that'll upset Sonar so maybe shutting Sonar and re-opening will be the only way.
