Sorry to jump in but speaking of tips and tricks, is there a tips and tricks video out for X-2? There is one out for X-1. 

I got to say that i loved the grove 3 pass and i am still using it. there is a lot of information to cover. right now I am working through the sample tank and the and the Kontakt courses. Awesome stuff. There is a good video on mixing with X1 in there too. of course the information can be applied to X2. I really liked the mastering out of the box course. It served as a great introduction to the many plug-ins out there that can be used with mastering.

There are 2 for X1 and all the information can be applied to X2. they were done by Craig Anderton and they are available in the cakewalk store

I watched a competitor's video regarding Swipe Comping ... I see where they are going with Take Lane's.

They were horrible when I first started using them, then they improved a lot when I installed the A patch. IOW ... I'm not afraid of them any more.

+1 to that bub. i hear ya man.
 
im a big fan of layers,its probably just going to take some time getting used to them.
