As regular readers know, I am having on-going and strange issues which Sweetwater thinks may be the fault of the V-Studio 700 I/O. That is certainly possible, but going against that are all the VST, Console, and native Sonar issues. We're trying to figure it out. The issue from last night definitely *seems* V-Studio related. Does anyone have ideas?
• A track using the Fantom (built-in to the V-Studio) would suddenly get almost inaudible for a few bars and then return to normal--always in the same place.
• There was no automation of any kind on the track or clip, in either the MIDI or Audio track.
• MIDI and Audio meters showed strong signals.
• All MIDI velocities were normal and there were no controller messages, except the set-up in the first bar that I always use (Reset all Controllers with #121, set Volume, turn off Reverb and Chorus, set Pan).
• Erasing the MIDI data and pasting in data from another section of the song did not help.
And now the really odd part:
• The track is silent when soloed. Soloing either MIDI or Audio correctly solos the other, but there is no sound unless solo is off.
• The Input on the MIDI track said Console. This has happened before and is an example of Ins and Outs suddenly getting screwed up. I changed it back to None (which shows up as Omni).
• In the event list, I saw a lot of strange messages with types of n/a, descriptions of "Shape" followed by "0.50-0.50." Deleting these one by one did not resolve the issue.
Thoughts on this?
