I have some mono wav files that I want to import into mono tracks.

It seems I have to first create a track then import audio into it. However, X2 doesn't give me the choice of creating a mono or stereo track, it defaults to stereo. Reading another post with a similar problem, the answer seems to be that X2 will create the type of track for the currently selected input device. But I don't want to record from my device, I just want to create a mono track so I can import a mono wav file into it.

How do I do that ? The X2 help was no help.

Just drag and drop the file from Windows Explorer (or the SONAR Browser) into the Track view. SONAR will automatically create the appropriate type of track.

Hey Scott, thanks for this. I figured it had to be something simple, but not that simple :-)

Too bad I only noticed my 15 tracks were all stereo once I'd finished setting them all up. This is my first real project so I'm expecting to make a lot of mistakes...

Boy, I was seriously confused. I've had to rearrange a few misconceptions I had when I asked the orginal question.

Turns out I had mono tracks after all, so I didn't really have a problem (I think :-)

Feeling like a real noob at the moment...
