Hi guys, apologies, but it's urgent so I'm pasting to this forum too:

About a year ago I saw a demo of a "Profiling EQ" plugin. You played program material in to it and it created an EQ curve that you could use on other tracks. Anyone know what it was called? It sold for around 200 Euros then..

Don't know about that particular one, but if you're after EQ-snapshots/EQ matching, there are other EQ's that can do it.
Ozone has snapshots, and Har-Bal is very advanced in that respect, but it's only standalone, not a plugin.
I'm 98% sure there are more, but can't remember the names.

I tried a quick search with EQ Snaphots - EQ matching VSTs. KVR site gave some suggestions, like FireQ.

This thing is pretty cool:http://plugin-alliance.com/en/plugins/detail/dynamic_spectrum_mapper_v2.html the demo lasts 14 days, but it may be a different tool than what you mean, however it does take a snapshot of your mix,and you can save them,it does have a teeny[?] issue of NOT remembering the settings on Windows, although sometimes it works flawlessly.
Cheers

Voxengo's CurveEQ (http://www.voxengo.com/product/curveeq/) does a pretty good job with that functionality.

Best,

Are you thinking of Waves Q-Clone?

No Funky, it sounded like "Reactive" or something like that..  I seem to recall it was German.

Ozone does this.

If all else fails, you can download the demo and use it to get by if you need it in a pinch.
