So, at this point I believe the problem does relate to the Asio driver.... is everyone that hasn't had this problem using asio drivers?

I use ASIO drivers on my Presonus Audiobox 1818 VSL, and do not have this problem at all, despite several (8) different combinations of loaded synths and connecting/disconnecting them.

I had X1d and X2 running at the same time, but am now using X2a exclusively, since I am not having any crashes.  X1 was completely removed from my system, including registry keys and application data folders, etc.

Thanks for the info. This is strange indeed.

I've noticed that if I wait for a bit, Sonar doesn't go into a full crash. The ram goes wild for a bit, I hit play, it freezes but then goes normal after maybe 10 seconds. It doesn't do this with another driver selected, just asio.

I had tested this on my sons machine and it was fine but he doesn't have a pro sound card so asio wouldn't even be available. If there was some way I could get the asio drivers turned on in his machine I might be able to see if the problem occurs. If it doesn't, I would know if there's something wacky on my machine or if this is a true bug.

It's like it's going into some loop when you try to enable a synth, the ram goes from 4% up to 35%, it shows an audio drop out message, I click ok, sonar freezes, I hit play, wait about 10 seconds, then everything goes back to normal. In X1 it just instantly turns on or off.

I must not give up! (sob...sob)
