You could also control pitch with a long and slow movement of the pitch wheel, which would give you the benefit of it being a non-destructive edit - meaning that you could adjust it whenever and however without having to redo the original sound.
You should be able to insert pitch wheel events to do this, and then edit them as needed, which would be more precise than trying to do it manually.
There are probably more ways to do this - it's just what pops into my head - if I have another cup of coffee something else might swim into mental view....
