Sick of all the time wasting distractions in my browser while I'm trying to work. Facebook & Twitter notifications, Reddit, and yes even this forum, I find myself reaching for them quite often when trying to get work done and it probably doubles the amount of time it takes me to do stuff. I guess I just have no self discipline :(

So I installed a free program called Cold Turkey which enables you to block a user specified list of sites for a certain amount of time. You absolutely cannot access them from your computer during that time (I guess it does something with the hosts file) and there is no changing your mind. If you set it to block for 2 hours, well you're going to have to wait 2 hours. It works perfectly!

All I have to do now is find a similar thing for my phone. Because I'm typing this on my iPhone right now due to the forums being blocked on my computer :(

Hi,

The browser thing is getting crazy ... and now there are hesitations for several seconds while a page is loading, and ESPN has gone to the dogs with it, for example. On top of the fact taht whoever is coding those things needs a new job at McDonald's because he's an idiot ... you start reading the page and one of the videos starts automatically, you stop that, and continue reading and another video further down starts ... and then the original video starts again right over it ... and no one in that place ever sees it, or realizes how bad the whole thing is!

I guess the articles don't matter!

Something has to change in that area, because the browsing process in the Internet is being ruined by people that should not be there, is all I can think.
