Hey all, new here & am just learning how to use LE with my electric guitar via ME-25. So far I have figured out how to start a project & expand the tracks so I can begin recording but when I play I experience serious delay. There is probably more than .5 seconds latency between what I'm strumming & hearing it on the computer speakers which make it all but impossible to play & record anything! I have tried playing without reverb or delay on the ME-25 with no improvement. Also tried plugging in headphones with no improvement either. Computer is a brand new HP610 Touchsmart with Intel Core i5cpu, 650 @ 3.20GHz , 6.00 GB RAM, 64bit OS, Windows 7. Cant find any info on the installed sound card though but maybe it's causing my trouble or do I need to run my output sound through an alternative sound source & turn the sound off the computer speakers?? and download the latest drivers for the BOSS and your operating system and install them.
The ME-24 is an audio interface as well as a stompbox.
Connect it via USB to your computer and in SONAR LE, select ASIO as the Driver Mode and the BOSS as your Recording and Playback device, or Recording and Playback Timing Master, depending on which version of SONAR LE you have.
With Roland/BOSS's ASIO drivers, you should be able to get latency down to ~ 10 ms or less.
Record everything through the BOSS, and plug your headphones and/or speakers into it to monitor what you're recording and playing back.

Hi there, I've recently purchased a Quad-Capture, and successfully installed it and Sonar LE. Unfortunately, I am experiencing massive latency issues (to the point where it's unusable). Motherboard: Asus P5E64 WS Evolution Processor: Intel Core2Duo E8500 RAM: 2Gb DDR3 OS: Windows XP SP3 I've been amending the latency using Edit > Preferences > Driver Settings I suspect that the problem is that I'm using my PC's onboard sound to play back MIDI, as I have no other MIDI sound modules. What is the easiest/cheapest option to resolve this? Upgraded sound card? Cheap MIDI sound module? Upgrading to 8Gb RAM and Windows 7 64-bit? (I build PCs and therefore this is cheap for me). Any help and advice appreciated, as I'm very new to recording and DAWs, and it's proving to be a lot more complicated than I'd hoped. -- Kind regards, David

David, you should have some VST software synthesizers with SLE. Click Insert at the top and select a soft synth.
Change the output of your MIDI track(s) to the soft synths you insert and you won't have to use the Microsoft GS Wavetable synth.
That will enable you to use ASIO as the driver mode and get better performance.
There are many free VST synths on the net and many more that you can buy.

  Hi Greg, Many thanks for your reply! That's now spot on with zero latency I can hear. At least now I can record guitar parts without sending myself insane. Even the built-in Cakewalk SoundCentre synths are better than the on-board Microsoft ones.
