Hello,

I was just wondering-- I have all my softsynths setup in ACT the way I like them mapped out, but every so often I want to control another parameter that is currently not mapped to a rotary.   If I learn it through ACT, it stays forever.  Is there anyway to do a ONE-TIME change but not let ACT remember it?

Not AFAIK but I believe the ACT mappings are stored in xml files if that helps. Are you aware that most ACT properties have 4 banks of buttons,knobs  and faders?

Yes, but still those 4 banks leave me to 32 presets I can control... some synths have more.   What if i want to make a one-time override?  I notice it sticks in the synth on next instance.   thx!

Yeah it will, ACT assignments don't need to be saved. It's probably just a case of swapping it for a session and then re-assigning when finished.

Another option might be using the Cakewalk generic surface. That has some ACT control on it. I'm not sure whether that will work independently as an ACT controller with the same surface at the same time though.

I do know that it will for other functions because I use it with the MIDI section of my ZED-R16. I use the button bank, knobs and faders via the ACT controller and the channel faders and transport controls via the Generic surface. That works great.
