Hello, as cakewalk was so kind giving us a free 30 day groove 3 pass, I watched the "producing electronic music video" and got inspired to try and work with some oneshot samples like kicks, snares etc and tweak them to my own likings. But when auditioning high freq samples like some snares, hihats, crash etc i get clicks and pops! Drag them into my project and they are fine. Dont got any problem elsewhere in my daw. Anyone got a quick fix solution on my problem ? - I load the samples into session drummer and then use PRV/step sequencer to work with beats etc.. Is this an ok way to do it , or do you have a more efficient/better way? - Mons :)

Mornin' Mons and Welcome to the Forum

If you could list your computer specs and your settings as far as buffers that would help greatly. Also if you have done any type of tweaks to your computer like Power Settings, Killing background processes, killing anti-virus, etc...

You can also search the manual (Cntrl+f) for Pops and Clicks, it will run you directly to suggested causes and adjustments

Which version of Sonar - X1, X2, Essentials, Studio, Producer, ...   ???  Im not sure what the trial version is LOL

Heres a sample from the manual

If you are hearing consistent dropouts/clicks in your audio and if your project contains high bit depth
(32/64 bit) or high sample rate audio (88.2K or higher), it may be indicative of a too small I/O buffer
size. If so try a higher I/O buffer size like 256 or 512. If audio problems persist, reset to 128 and try a
different remedy.
Go to Edit > Preferences > Audio - Sync and Caching, and set Playback I/O Buffer Size (KB)
and Record I/O Buffer Size (KB) to 256, 512 or 1024.
