I just don't see controller handles at all, even with "Show controller handles" selected.

I've experienced this weirdness, too (in 8.5). The trick to restoring the handles is to check the "show controller handles" option, then close and re-open the PRV.

Thanks for the tip Bitflipper. I'll give that a whirl. There's definitely something strange going on......

Closing and re-opening the PRV eliminates the velocities-in-every-lane problem, too.

Incidentally, I checked the PDF Reference Guide, and it is apparently Working As Designed that more than one controller type can be shown in a single lane, but there are still issues with adding new lanes and choosing what controllers you want shown where. And it shouldn't be necessary to relaunch the PRV to refresh the view every time you make a change.

I think the whole implementation needs to be revisited. The default should be one controller type per lane, and only controllers in the active track.

Thanks for the reply GlennKay. There is something strange with the handles but I've made a few discoveries (for me at least)

It seems that the ghosted data in the 'wrong' lane may be by design. It can be turned on & off using the PRV Controllers menu and deselecting it. The  controllers menu seems to be lane sensitive and only affects and reflects the current active lane.

It would also appear that "show velocity" under the notes menu is lane specific as well, but doesn't always reflect the true state when switching lanes.

I guess this might come in handy if one is trying to line up control changes of different types.

I am now at least starting to see some consistency with the cc in lane display issue, it appears to be buggy but reasonably logical.

Still stumped by finding a 'recipe' for the handles issue though. It seems to me at least completely random.

Ok. Tried the closing the PRV, opening bit and makes no difference here at all.

I've also got back to my DAW (x64) and I just can't get controller handles to show there at all, not even randomly.

I've deleted the controllers via the event list but that's hardly ideal. Unless I'm being stupid each one has to be deleted individually. I thought I'd just be able to select them all and then delete in one go. Am I missing something there?

Although I don't do a great deal of controller editing in the PRV it is very frustrating not being able to do any if need be. That all seems to be linked to the handles not being visible. So far deleting the CC-64 data has taken 3 days, due to me getting side tracked by the bug(s).

Still not heard back from CW ref the bug report.

I do a great deal of CC editing - mostly pitch and mod wheel -, so when this problem comes up it's quite annoying. The "show controller handles" option is checked, but no handles. I'm sure it's a bug, but I haven't been able to reproduce it at will. Most of the time, the handles follow the option.

However, I've always been able to get the handles back by un-checking the option, closing the PRV, re-opening the PRV and re-checking the option. Or maybe it's un-check, re-check, close and reopen, I forget.

Woop - woop - Breakthrough.......... I've revisited this again and now at least have a recipe on how to display the handles or not.

I should point out, that I normally work with the PRVs docked in the multidock.

If I undock the PRV and disable floating the "controller handles" view state option then works perfectly and instantly as it should. As soon as I enable floating the Controller Handles view state is locked to whatever it is set at when floating is enabled.

This probably explains why it is working for some and not me. If it works for you I'm guessing you haven't got a floating PRV.

This is consistent for me and at least I can now work round the bug, as well as report the bug properly. I'm guessing that the second PRVs I could see handles in, have at some point been non-floating when I set the option.

Thanks to all, that have helped out in this thread. It's appreciated.

Update for anyone searching for a solution to this problem and finding this thread..........

CWBRN-6172 View Controller handles option not working............ has been confirmed and "submitted to development".

The problem doesn't manifest itself if you have a non-floating, non-docked PRV. If you have a floating or multi-docked PRV the "Show Controller Handles" does not work consistently, or at all for me most of the time.........

The workround is to undock and disable floating on the PRV then make the option change.

Here's hoping for a fix.

If its not docked and not floating what good is it? LOL

My controller handles don't work worth a flip.
