I'm probably late to the party on this one,but it seems now Iv'e gone and bought the NEW CA2A,the PC2A no longer works,or if I want the preceding PC2A,I can uninstall the CA2A,but I can't have both working[or both show up in the PC list?]

Thanks
Bob

CA2A replaces PC2A since it's an "upgrade"

Your avatar's eyes, look how I feel,so that's a "No you can't use both, because the CA2A is an upgrade, and why would you want to use the old PC2A,now you have this New CA2A",and "how could  I possibly consider using the old one,at the same time as the new one"?

Yeah?

Thanks

Oh well, thanks for clearing that up.

I wen't back to the thread talking about it[now on P2]but no one, said anything about using them together.

I like the new one better for sure, but I'm always in 2[often3]minds about using them,as they are so mild, and was hoping to compare the old with the new,and I must say, this not being able to use the old with new,is not made very clear, until now

I have an existing project that has a PC2A in it. I installed the CA2A today and opened the project and installed the CA2A in the track adjacent to the PC2A track. I do note however that it appears to be removed from the Insert and Replace Module menu selection.

Not sure what kind of chaotic maelstrom that may bring about.

OK more weirdness,I guess it was NOT brought up,cause after 3-4 hours of clowning about,THEY now BOTH show up in the PC,and both work!

I wonder why they DID NOT before?

Which brings me to,the fact that, although I think it's more likely that it's this laptop[ dell xps i7 2630qm 8GB ram]nearly 2 years old]X2 is crashing and "whiting out" on me Waaay more than X1D.

Anyway, the world looks better, due to both plugins now working[still I hope]!
Bob

PS now that Iv'e got to use this new CA2A,it seems way more aggressive than the PC2A,but only if you want it to be,despite the installation nightmares, great job cakedudes, and duchesses!

Well, regardless of the one or the other sit, does anyone have an opinion on whether the upgrade is worth it (even if it is only $20 today)?  I am considering it and hoping to find more info.....

Anyone??
Thanks Michael

I just bought the upgrade today. The store took my VISA and got the SN and reg before the download was complete. Was it worth it? I will only use the PC version in SONAR, don't sidechain much and have other sidechaining options. I bought it because it will probably be the only LA2A clone that Cakewalk will maintain. I do not expect to see patches to the PC2A.

I'm unsure if it's still $19.95 USD,but at that price,it's like stealing!

I like it better than my N.I. VC-2A FX[though the VC is fine, just different],and,in some situations, more than Waves CLA-2A,especially the R37 "Pre Emphasis" control on the Cakewalk design, works better, then there is the full GUI look...cakewalk hands down!
