Hello:

I will try to make this simple:

I create a soft synth track with a kontakt 5 drum solo

I save it as a bundle

Transfer the file cwb file to a friend

He opens it and can't hear the track

I copy and paste the track to a new file and it creates 2 tracks

Now he can hear it. (The midi track seems to create an audio track)

In my original session I only see one track (and I hear it just fine)

In the copied session I see 2 tracks (midi and audio i guess)?

Any thoughts of how I can explain to him how to see the midi and audio track in the original song (cwb) I sent?

Thanks,

James

Tell him to right-click the track and choose Split Instrument Track.

You can also avoid this to begin with by not using an Instrument, if you'd like, but he can just split the track just as easily.

To not use an Instrument, choose the MIDI Source option and the First Synth Audio Output option in the Insert Soft Synth Options dialog box. An Instrument track is basically just a MIDI track and audio track combined. By using these options, you'll get the separate tracks instead of the one track.

I transfer projects all the time, and do it by just transferring a zipped project folder, or I will post it on the FTP section of one of my web sites and he will just download the uncompressed project folder from there.

I also do not use instrument tracks - just use separate audio and midi tracks.

I do not trust bundles, and doing it the way I do we have zero trouble with anything, except finding time to work on projects. :)
