New CA-2A T-Type! WOW!!!!
http://www.cakewalk.com/products/CA-2A/

Truly the best emulation of Teletronix LA-2 I ever heard so far! You don’t need to demo it just buy it! Run over anything..

I used the old version PC-2A (version 1) and that sound awesome. This new version (version 2.0) sounds even better and even more amazing. Warm, musical truly real analog feel to it. Also the new version 2.0 seems to fix all the old bugs, graphical bug with loading Pro Channel presets with the PC2A included.

Great job Cakewalk!

Best Regards
Freddie

Yeah, bought the upgrade earlier today. Figured that was the only way to get the bug fixes for the PC2A.

Is it sure that the new CA-2A is different than the PC2A (in another way that being a the VST format) ?

Ah, ok.
But is the sound different (i am very happy with the PC2A, and wonder if i upgrade - don't need the VST format) ?

I notice directly in one minute it sounded even better. More musical and warmer than before. It wasn't bad before either. The version 1 were absolutely stunning emulation too. So if you like the old versio you will love the new version 2.0 even more.

In another thread someone had made two mixes. One dump with old PCLA-2 and with new CA-2A after upgrade. It sounded completely different! So yes, it sound different. The upgrade is absolutely worth the 19.99€ 19.99$ even if you just want to use it with Pro Channel.

I use the Pro Channel daily too and I hope Cakewalk make and release more new "VST version" and "Pro Channel" emulations of hardware that sounds as good as this one. Love to see a new 1176. DBX, SPL, Daking, SSL, Manley hardware emulations ...

+1 for a DBX emulation for the ProChannel, something like a 160SL would be great!

Just sharing this for those who don't know: the Sonitus Compressor has a preset called something like DBX160 (which BTW is totally my favorite go-to preset for the Sonitus compressor). (Not the same thing as a specific software emulation product, but it is pretty darn close and works really well.) Just thought I'd share for those who haven't played around with it yet. Best, ed

I find it hard to believe it would sound different, but Cake would make no mention whatsoever of improving the sound (or algorithm) of the compressor. That would be a major selling point!!!
