I think this question is impossible to give a definitive answer to. In fact, you are the only one who could give us the actual answer. If you never got tot the root of what was causing the instability, it's doubtful any of us could possibly know the cause and thus the probability that X2 addresses that particular thing. With that said, I find X2 more stable on my pc than 8.3 was, but I am on a completely different computer than what I ran 8.3 on.

Looks like you're right. I guess I was hoping someone here had a similar experience = went from an older version of Sonar and found that the X versions were more stable.

Here is a question that should be able to be answered. If I'm running 8.3 and then install the demo of X2, are there any conflicts? What about after I uninstall the demo?

Thanks,

There should be no conflicts running multiple versions of SONAR on the same machine. The trial version will overwrite some of the files in the "Shared" directories. Uninstalling any version of SONAR may result in those same "Shared" files being removed. If you choose not to upgrade, you may need to reinstall 8.3 if you remove the trial version.

There was a point around SONAR 8 or so, don't remember exactly, when we started to develop the x64 version first as the main version. At this time the x64 version became much more stable than it had been in the past. Might be worth it to try the X2 Trial and see how that runs on your system ...

What other software do you have installed? You should only install the software you need for recording. Make sure you virus scanner and firewall are configured correctly.

Either way go for X2. You may want to do a CLEAN reinstall Windows after purchase if you get into messy issues. Always good to start again sometimes.

Thanks all. I think I'll wait on the X2 demo until after the projects I'm working on are done.
