It's a tricky one to imitate. If you have ever actually played a Dog House Bass you'd know that there's a million different sounds that come out of one. Both your left and Right hands have this huge range of control over the attach, tone and dynamics. Then try and play in pitch!!
A good Acoustic Bass synth should randomly go off pitch a titch. . :)
I had one for years and let it go to kid who was going to College and needed one. I don't really miss it 'cause it took up a lot of studio space. The strings needed replacing @ $300 too.
SO I'd gladly pay $300 for a synth that emulated one.. but I can't see how you would manipulate all those subtle tones, slaps and slides.
