This is just plain old embarrassing and has gone on long enough.

I just PM'd someone and got some 'server issue' message so I tried 3 more times.
I just noticed that all 4 went through.

Come on, you're a software company for crying out loud. Now act like one.

Fix it or move on.
If it's too much to handle then just shut down the forums and sub it out to a 3rd party.

How can you expect anyone to take your software writing abilities seriously if you cant work forum software?

I hear ya Elffin.
I had my emails fixed 3 times.
I believe that the first year I signed up I got the occasional email.
Now I just get lucky and stumble upon updates and special offers while drifting through the forums here.

Sometimes the pages load so slow I just go over to SOS or GearSlutz instead.

I can only sit here watching a little blue circle spinning for so long before I just quit.

Someone brought up a good point the other day on how many people looking into recording software just passed Cakewalk by because the page just wouldn't load.

I know if I click on to a site and get the spinning circle I move on within 5 -10 seconds.

I haven't been on this forum for a while and wondered what you were all talking about. This was the first thread I read and then I clicked on the next one down the list and the little circle just sat there. How long has this been going on?

sounds like a personal problem to me.  you know they didn't write the bb software. the web is a big place.  enjoy the exploration.

That was helpful.

(i know, sorry)

The OP is blaming cake for the forum software - which they didn't write.  While they do have control over what is used for the forum, I don't know of any bb sftware that is perfect all for all 12 (or ever how many variations there are) brands/versions of browsers that the users may use.

This BY FAR is one of the absolute best user supported forums anywhere.  The fact that not everyone is having an issue is more indicative that is a user/browser/os issue.

Just my two cents on the rant.

I admit I know absolutely nothing about forum software.
I know I'm not the only one who has issues with it either.
I could see if it was a browser conflict like the one with FireFox but I've seen complaints from all browser users.
I happen to use Chrome and from what I've read is the best browser to use here,

If so many people are having issues with all browsers them maybe Cake should try a different provider.
That's all I'm pretty much saying.

Thanks for the clarification Randyman. Interestingly, in another thread, there is a posting in which one of the Cakewalk administrators (Adam Birch) states "I think its because we're due to update our forum software so it works with modern browsers." The thread is about problems processing credit card transactions in one of the Cakewalk online stores, so it is not directly related to the posting issue discussed here, but perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel. The other thread can be found here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2765074

I wonder how long I will be a new member. As you can see, I joined this forum in 2008! Perhaps I haven't helped out enough?
