I wonder how long I will be a new member. As you can see, I joined this forum in 2008! Perhaps I haven't helped out enough?

It's based on quantity, not quality. :) If it was based on quality, there's a few members here that have over 20,000 posts that would still be in the 'New Member' category.

A couple of forum members contacted the people that wrote this forum software and they said there is a free patch to make it work with current browsers but Cakewalk made alterations to the software and the patch won't work.

Nobody's fault really, just one of those things.

it's the only forum I have "issue" with regarding it's usability.. and it makes me post far less


either bin this / get better forum software.. OR upgrade.. from another thread, apparently this isn't the latest version.. and if they are trying to "milk" the upgrade.. go elsewhere.

it looks rather unprofessional compared to rivals whose stuff I also use (who don't have probs with spammers etc)

WOW!  Using IE 9 I can call this BS and all of my spacing, paragraphs, and punctuation work as prescribed.  Sometimes I think you folks should use what is known and supposed to work instead of demanding that things work in your little worlds!

not really.. we have no control over spammers for a start. I'm sure you wouldn't buy a car you can't only turn right in ..

it over complicated things having something that chucks a hissy with certain browsers... hardly a good first impression for new visitors also.. IE9 .. ah other browsers are available..

As for the rest . . .  . all I'm saying is that IE works here.  If you are using something other than what has become the standard - - - - - - -  why?

But IE9 does not work unless you have the zoom set to 100%.

So, yeah, there is a work around, but the reason people don't like that work around is because they can't see the screen so well with it at 100%. And the whole reason people have the option to change that zoom settings is because people have a hard time seeing the small print on these new flat screen monitors that force you to use their native resolution.

Chrome works for me
