I started "playing" drums in a band about a year and a half ago, due to them lacking a drummer.
It is nowhere close to being traditional drums in any way.
I was just bad enough to let them keep me as noise in the background
(I even played drums in a marching band as a kid...)
We've played a few concerts locally, and I'm both proud and ashamed of my contribution(s). But that won't keep me from enjoying making some noise behind a drum kit
