I got to play some guitar! Specifically, one of these:
A Martin Grand Concert 00CXAE. Wow, what a wonderful sounding guitar! My new roommate/landlord has this along with a nice PRS, a Custom Shop Strat, an SG and some other guitars that I haven't had a chance to see yet. It felt a bit strange after all that time (especially since I rarely play a "real" acoustic guitar, I used to always play one of the Variax equivalents in my custom electric). I was surprised at how thin the body was (front to back, not side to side) and the neck was thin but very playable too. I can't wait until I get to play the electrics (especially the PRS since that's the scale I'm used to). He's got a nice Blackstar amp and cabs along with a small number of stomps, but it should help me get over the fact that I don't have any gear left (well, mostly!). I think it's time to call my luthier in Ohio and see if my last custom, the "Red Rocker" is ready to be sent my way...
