I know I can create silence from selected audio passages in Sonar, but is there a way in Sonar to FIND silent bits.  While Sonar is helpful at editing the audio in various ways,  I am mulling through hours of radio shows from the 1970s transferred to digital audio and I need to remove ads that had silence before and after them - is there a way to quickly identify all bits of silence so I may quickly identify the ads and delete them?  If not, can you recommend any available program out in the market that could accomplish this task?  Thanks.

You could scroll through the track and see where there is (almost) silence by looking at the waveform.

You could use Process > Apply Effect > Remove silence, but it will only delete the silence (threshold user definable), it won't delete the actual ads.
