Hi guys, I have a weird issue that makes me unable to work. I'm working on SONAR 8.5.3 and Windows 7 64 When I add multiple instance of Kontakt (or play) somehow the sound disappear. I have all the levels working, I see that it produce sound... but nothing "reach" my sound card anymore (SONAR V-700R) in this project I use 3 Kontakt 5 and it happenned when I add a 4th instance of Kontakt. On other project I had the case with 1 kontakt, 1 play and when I wanted to add a second play --> no sound anymore. Well, sometimes I just have to close the project and the sound come back (but it's still boring) and here whatever I do, close the project, even sonar... the sound is still lost. I've checked the output of the master (which I see the levels working too) tried to change it and put it back to MAIN... but nothing works :-/ Any idea ??? Thanks a lot and sorry for my limited english Seb

Not sure if its related but Ive seen many including myself have the same issue.

Im currently on X1 and experience it.

Everything visually working normally, just the sound dies. All meters moving, transport moving etc...

Thats been my fix when it happens, close out and relaunch X1

Possible causes for me was messing with ProChannel, memory intensive PlugIns while the transport is moving/playing

Not sure on the fix though

You may have exceeded your computer's capacity. Nedd your specs to be sure. Are you running Sonar 32-bit or 64-bit? How much RAM in the computer?

Are you sure you need to load 4 instances of Kontakt? I believe you can load multiple instruments into the rack and assign them to specific MIDI channels.

HI thanks for your answers, @Digi2ns : yeah, closing SONAR and restart actually work sometimes, but on this project it doesn't work :-/ @Daveny : My computer is based on a I7-970 and have 24Go of RAM, so it's not exceeded at that point. And SONAR is in 64 bit. Well, I use kontakt with LA Scoring String 2.0 in this project and it uses Multi with bank of instruments... so in one instance I have like 8 banks and in each bank I have like 4 or 5 patches... So I thought one multi like per instance was enough :-/ and I have only like 6 or 7Go of RAM dedicated to the strings.. so I have plenty of RAM left. But I have to say I'm not so used to multi instruments like these... Well I still have no idea about what I could do, if I find something I'll post here, if you have any idea it's welcome :-) Thanks again Seb

The only other thing I can think of is maybe checking or just reloading the drivers for you interface.  Maybe it will snap Sonar back into shape    Just a stab in the dark but who knows
