I bought the upgrade form 8.5 which I use 8 hours a day to x1 just hoping they had fixed the autosave. You know what I mean. No matter what you set the number of changes or time between saves it just does it whenever it wants to. Usually much too often. Then, you turn it off because it's so annoying, then, 15 minutes later you get a crash and you just wasted time. They give us all these great new toys, but can't seem to fix a vital part of the program. Annoying to say the least. I'm back to 8.5.

mine works too..am i missing something??..you go to preferences and change the auto save value??..mine works..good luck..give me some more details...you have autosave on for every???minutes???and its not saving??that many minutes for you?

Hi Tim! I didn't know you were a fellow SONARite! Hope you get it sorted, bud.
Great to see you on here. "Circles" is still gettin' heavy airplay at my house, great CD!

I have auto save set to auto save every 8 changes I think. Something like that. It works great for me and has saved me a few times. But when it goes to save, I always forget and wonder what it's doing.

Like if I'm messing with PX64 on a drum part. I may turn the same knob on the Shaper many many times. And when it auto saves the screen reverts back to the compressor. And I have to click something agin in the Shaper to get it's graph to show. PITA but I live with it.

There's other things I've noticed about autosave that's a little anoying, but like I said, it's saved me many times before.

I don't use "save every XX minutes" because I always forget that I have it set to that and There are certain things you don't want to be in the middle of and the time comes up it will save no matter what. But with "save every 10 changes" it won't save until your done with the thing your doing, then it saves right after.

Autosave working as it should here. I can't see the logic of going back to 8.5 where it's also not working for you though?

Is there something else with X1 that's causing problems?

Mine too. I have it "built in" in to my fingers... almost evertime I do some changes my finger hit Ctrl+S "automatically... and this goes for all other Windows based program I use...

Mine saves every 5 minutes and causes no problems. I'd never disable it - it has proven its worth too many times in the past.
What does that say about Sonar's stability though?
