I record using direct in with guitar rig 4 and before recording everything sounds decent but during playback after recording the guitar part it sounds like garbage. So im wondering if the guitar I am using that has active pickups matters. I don't think it does but im just making sure. I made sure my levels were not peaking so I know thats not the problem. I'm still very new to this home recording.

Thanks.

Shouldn't matter at all.  Something in the chain more likely, like your audio interface and or its settings.

You must not be monitoring properly.

Sometimes people complain about how their guitar sounds duller on playback than during monitoring, and it turns out that the sound of the unamplified strings outside their cans during monitoring was making it sound brighter. Sure it's not that?

Can you explain what you mean by "sounds garbage"?  I know it can be hard to describe these things, but please try to be as specific as possible.
