Good to hear. It could be that the audio interface just froze up and needed a hard reboot.

Just a thought - any idea what kind of temperatures the cpu is running at?
An overheating cpu can cause all kinds of strange issues.....

Not really. It was only the first core dipping into the redline area.

Hmmm. I had a strange case where I set the audio interface to loopback and forget. When I sent audio out to the interface it would feedback and cut out. I thought it was defective unit until I found it. I now reset the interface as a standard action when I'm having troubs.
