OK sorry about that.  I would look closely at USB devices. Firewire is not as universal. USB can do the job. I use a Edirol M16 DX with 16 inputs and it is USB. Works well with Windows 8. I would look at the new Roland audio interfaces. Presonus is a good choice in my opinion but the mixer is not cheap. Allen and Heath is another choice I would look closely at. Than there is good old Mackie. Beheringer has a nice digital mixer too.

I like digital mixers. Always have. I wish you the very best of luck.

I do not like the fact that Presonus has these mixers (Studiolive) for like last 5 years and did not make any new once. I was waiting for this NAMM with hope, because they were lowering the price on the usits, I was hoping- may be they will release new model, but everything is quiet.

I got inspired by the Capture studio for a moment, but then- na... I need a mixer + interface. I can not go without hands on control. I have a band, and if the guitar is too loud or not loud enough, I want to be able to go there and turn it up or down, not dig in to software for that. So c'mon, NAMM! It is the longest 3 weeks for me! Finished my DAW build 1/13/13

I am with you all the way with hands on and a mixer. I use the Edirol which is a mixer and a Mackie Control. Once you have used a mixer its hard to give one up. I hear you very well indeed. I Hope NAMM is fruitful for you.
