Hello! I'm fairly new to SONAR and I LOVE the intuitiveness of the program. But i was just wondering if there is a way to make one of my tracks suddenly louder (about 30 seconds) and then return them to normal??? Please help meeee! XD

Read about envelope automation (vol) in the help files.  It will raise the level up and return it to whatever.  You can also do panning, eq settings, etc. etc.  Easy as pie.

Use volume automation. Its ideal for this.  On the track just select from the track filter volume and draw in the increase where you want it.

Everything mentioned will work fine.  My usual way would be to use the split function at the beginning and end of the clip, select the clip and use edit/ (process 3db to start ). and continue as needed. May want to fade in and out as well.

The problem with this is that it's a destructive process and the clip will be permanently altered to reflect the new gain.

I'd use a volume envelope without giving it a second thought.

+1 to Bristol.
IMO it's absolutely unnecessary and unpractical to do destructive clip editing for volume in order to get track volume adjusted on particular sections.
And what if you need progressive curves? Up and down...you'd need to split dozens of times.
Automation is the way to go, no doubt. It's faster as well. You can just let the music play and move the slider, and then move individual nodes to adjust the details. Or, if there are just a couple of places where adjusting is needed, you create an envelope, add the necessary nodes and set them corrcectly.
