BTW for anyone who is interested, I just wont Best Music Video at the 2014 Pollygrind Film Festival here in Las Vegas! Last year I won Best Experimental Music Video for my "Lights In The Sky" video which was made up of existing, public domain footage, and this time I got the main Music Video award. Super excited :-)

Thanks Kakku. Yea it went over really well, and sounded great in the movie theater where it screened. Very happy :-) And it might be screening again at the awards ceremony which, any chance to see something I did in a movie theater, I'm psyched for haha.

Very impressive track and fantastic video. Perhaps because you're obviously so accomplished though, I'm going to say, unlike many others, for me the track doesn't fit the video entirely. I'd agree with Kakku's comment that the track seems to lack the level of dynamics and intensity I'd expect watching the vid. I do have a penchant for electronica and atmospheric stuff, although I don't make it. I was watching the vid thinking of a recent track called 'The Ship' by Black Rivers, and although the mood may be different the level of 'over the edge'intensity they build in that track is kind of what I was hoping could happen here...

Quick question on the 2013 version -- you say "public domain footage" - so, that means you found some video on the internet somewhere, and you added your music to that?   Or, some other process?   I'm looking for some such "public domain footage" myself, just curious if there any recommendations you have how to source it ... thanks.

Masterofnone - I'm gonna check out that song you mentioned, but thanks for your comments. I just started talking with the director about our next video and I'm going to try to pick a song with more changes for the next one, so I can match a high quality video with a track that's got more changes to it, since that does seem to be the biggest criticism of "If Only Tonight I Could Sleep" (although personally I couldn't be happier with how it came out, but of course there's always room for improvement).
 
Ultrabra - Thanks, I'm assuming by 2013 version you mean my "Lights In The Sky" Music Video which was all put together with public domain footage? Yea I got all of it from archive.org ... You just have to do a LOT of digging to find something worth while.... There's literally 1000s of videos of people just standing there giving class lectures haha, so finding something that would look cool along with your own music is a process, but it's out there. Each piece of media on there has usage rights listed. I'm probably gonna do another one for one of my songs on the next album, just as sort of a tradition thing, do a public domain-based video for every album, since "Lights In The Sky" did so well for me last year.

Wow just wow!!!! That was powerful. I didn't get the significance of the coin until I read the first reply here.  The music goes well with the video and they are both fantastic imo. I too was expecting some vocals at first but got over it quickly.
