  • [Solved] Where is that option when you try to find them - reset controller when stopped

Edit : Found it..at Project MIDI (Zero Controllers When Plays Stops) ...I was scanning for the word 'Reset' ..I guess it didn't match :)

Anyway, this setting is already enabled - the controller won't reset sustain pedal, probably just the modulation/pitch bend.

-----------------

I tried to look for this option in the Preference, but I can't find it.

Once I was having problem with Garritan library that must use the modulation wheel to raise the volume each time it's first used, and after stopping Sonar. Someone advised there is a setting in Sonar that shall prevent resetting the controller data, so there is no need to keep raising the modulation wheel. Unchecked that and it worked.

Now, after recording an EP with sustain pedal at various places, when I record other tracks, if I happens to stop Sonar at a specific location when the EP sustain is on, when I resume playback at other measures, the EP sustain will be turned on at the wrong place.

I'm hoping checking back same setting can be used for this situation.

..I've checked every options for a few times already. ..I must have missed something ?

I think there is another setting that will help you out - not sure.  Here is the help doc for the two options that seem to deal with this stuff, the other setting I am referring to is the second of these:

Zero Controllers When Play Stops. If you choose this option, SONAR sets the controller values of the pitch wheel, the sustain pedal, and the modulation wheel on all 16 MIDI channels to zero. It also sends a “zero all continuous controllers” MIDI message which turns off other continuous controllers on newer synthesizers. If you experience frequent stuck notes when playback stops, try checking this option.

Patch/Controller Searchback Before Play Starts. If you choose this option, SONAR finds and sends the most recent patch changes, wheel events, and pedal events before starting playback. This way, all settings are correct even if you start playback at an arbitrary point in the project.

Thanks Robert, the second option sounds good.

My current solution is to freeze the track.. Has been at the DAW the whole day (it's night now ..:) Shall take a break and will try this option later.
