I made the upgrade to X2a (clean install on Win7 64 bit) and everything was going ok.

Switched off the machine and later switched on to continue work on a particular project only to discover that no keyboard commands work.

Spacebar does not have any reaction, Ctrl arrow to enlarge clips - no reaction.

Shift + F no reaction.

On opening any project, the little display window which shows tempo etc is blank. Only if I click inside the track pane does that show correctly but the programme has no reaction to the keyboard inputs.

I went back to X1 and all is fine so the keyboard must be ok.

Anyone have any ideas?

I thought of deleting the AUD.ini file but cannot find it.

Looks like it's back to X1 until further notice...DAMN!!!!!

Cheers,

Peter.

you can load up/change keyboard shortcuts under preferences. there is a sonar default setting. maybe the install hasnt loaded them up.
Worth a try if you havent already.
Not sure about the tempo thing, sorry.

I ran into this over the weekend.  I'm setup to drive X2 (and 8.5.3) with (1) keyboard and mouse, (2) Frontier TranzPort, and (3) Mackie d8b + BluAudio D8Bridge MCU emulator.  Most of it works but I found that the spacebar wasn't operating the transport.  I don't understand it, but I found a workaround.  If I click the mouse in a text field somewhere, like the track name, and type in anything, like retyping part of the track name, when I leave the text field the spacebar functionality is restored.  Wiggity whack, I know, but it worked for me...

This was on a recent install of X2 on the system described below.  No X2a patch yet.

Sorry to hear this really...
Looks like we will wait until X2b before installing the version of X2 we just bought and downloaded...just to many complaints of instability for a full time production environment. Especially since X1 has been the most rock solid DAW build to date...if It ain't broke lol

I have a similar issue with my spacebar not operating the transport (correctly).  Instead it toggles the Now Time positioning.   I tried your workaround (clicking elsewhere and editing text) but that didn't work for me.  The only thing I am able to do to continue is to revert back to X1 or 8.5 (both of which play the same projects just fine.

For a moment I thought we shared the same problem.  Seems to be the same symptom but different causes...  But just in case we are being impacted by something similar, here's my thread:

Yep, I agree.

I certainly hope that there will be an X2b...

X2a seems to be a little flakey. Not prepared to risk the business running it just yet.

Back to X1 it is then...

I did manage to sort out the problem by deleting the aud.ini file, so when I opened the programme again it all worked properly............only to have it happen again the next time I opened X2a.

This is starting to p*## me off now.

Yes, it is a wireless keyboard. Not sure why that should make a difference.

My mouse starts acting weird when the batteries get low.

And:
I had to move the USB wireless bit to the desktop to get consistent response. Ran a USB extension cable. This helped lots of stuff.

And:
Any driver update to be had?

I have a wireless keyboard on another computer that ALWAYS uses the first keystroke to "awaken." Tried everything.  Making me way crazy.  Prolly will replace it.
