It seems as though X2 has some strange interaction with wireless USB things. In my case, my wireless usb mouse would start acting funny (fail to move or move erraticaly) everytime I started up X2, usually only after a few minutes and lots of clics. The mouse would then remain screwed up even if I closed X2. No other application did this.

Then on a whim I moved the mouse USB dongle from my tower pc on the floor to the usb port on my monitor and all my problems went away.

Sorry to hear this really...
Looks like we will wait until X2b before installing the version of X2 we just bought and downloaded...just to many complaints of instability for a full time production environment. Especially since X1 has been the most rock solid DAW build to date...if It ain't broke lol

Yep, I agree.

I certainly hope that there will be an X2b...

X2a seems to be a little flakey. Not prepared to risk the business running it just yet.

Back to X1 it is then...

Cheers,

Peter.

omg ,,,,,,,,I realy start disliking the fact ; that we have to wait until version b or c until a costing product is fully functional .....is this realy legal ??????

A keyboard is first of all managed by Windows, not Sonar.

As was said, check power off settings, batteries and try with a standard usb keyboard.

Sonar ill take its instructions via a Windows layer........

Cheers,
J

There were changes to the default Keyboard shortcuts when X1 was released. Quite radical; but done to make things more logical. Cakewalk's expression, not mine.
Many complaints later and quite a few of those changes seem to have been re-done in X2 (don't know if the changes were in connection with user complaints or just a further disruption refinement) but not back to SONAR 8 rather different again to X1.

so if you have versions 8.5, X1 and now X2a on your machine you'll have 3 different sets of default shortcuts. Ah progress.

Yep, kinda wish they'd waited until version X2b or X2c before they'd released it.

I have a similar issue with my spacebar not operating the transport (correctly). Instead it toggles the Now Time positioning.

Isn't that Track View>Options> rewind to last position (or something like that)

I've not had a useable system since upgrading from XP 8.53 to Win 8 X2A. All sorts of issues but pops and clicks are the show stopper. I installed Win 8 over the top of XP from the Microsoft site. But because I had so many problems I'm now in the process of reinstalling Win 8 onto a clean disc and I'll then reload X2A and see if I have better luck.

I've updated all drivers, bios etc. I've tried wifi on/off, Priorty Program/Background, Disabled Power options in BIOS, etc etc

From the forum it looks to me that the happy bunnies tend to be using I7 processors and 64bit OS

Any way to get a bit more ram into your system ? Must be pretty crowded in there...

I could get 4 Gig in  but windows will only use 3 gig max under 32bit.

I've done the clean install and just checking loops in the browser is a click and pop fest. It must be a driver thing though there is plenty on the web about audio pops in Win 8

I am also having some problems with X2a x64 running in Win 7 Pro...

Crashes that never happened in X1d...

It's making me a little nervous when I am working and saving files and I don't like that feeling...

Everything on the system is 100% stable except for X2a  :(

I have sent some crash dumps to the mechanics,so hopefully they can analyze them and get some fixes happening....

But like some others around here,I'm thinking of heading back to X1d until these issues are resolved...

I really like X2 but I need a DAW that is 100% stable because my life depends on it....
