Started a new project today on Sonar X2, went out for dinner, came back and I found that Sonar had crashed while it was idleing (I'm not sure if the project was open or not). Now when I try to open the project, It crashes every time. Is there a way i can diagnose this issue, anything I can do to save my project? I've also tried loading the project in Sonar X1, and it crashes as well. I testing loading a few other projects and they all seem to be fine. Thanks,

Are there VSTs in the project? Try loading it in safe mode (Press shift when opening the project). Then you can eliminate one VST at a time and find out if one of them is guilty.

Oh cool I didn't know you could do that. Unfortunately, I have now tried that a few times, and even after selecting "no to all" for loading the plugins, it still crashes right after that during the load. For now, I did find a workaround, where I could open the project on my older computer (Sonar X1), resave it, and sent it back to my main computer on X2, and then it would open. However, that project was still very buggy, and I am now in the process of starting a new project from scratch, and moving all of the tracks/midi/automation from the defective project to the new one (I am having a big of a hard time moving automation). I have also opened a case with Cakewalk so they're walking me though. I just hope this isn't a recurring problem for me in X2

But we just love hearing and gloat about why we still use 8.5 ha ha....
