If you are running a serious studio nuendo or ProToolsHD are highly regarded.

ProTools HD is amazing.

Sonar does not need a lot of tweaking. I have or had run almost all DAWs at one time or another. At least those the run on a PC. I can state accurately that Sonar through the years has been at least as stable to all the others and most of the time more stable. X2a is very stable here.

Bub is unhappy with the new Sonar as well as having all sorts of problems with it. I have, and so have others, tried to help him but to no avail.  None the less he has come into any thread that is a negative one about X1 or X2. Its his style now. He offers no help or a reason for a problem all he does is bash CW and X1 and X2. Its becoming tiresome.

Some one else will need to post this answer to Bub because he has blocked me.

But if some one is this unhappy with a product it seems to me that the person would find another product that they like and be unhappy there.

In other words its time to give it up and move on Bub.

They only say, "Goodbye to Sonar," and whenever they do, they always have, "two posts."

??

What is wrong with these people?

Edit =  I sold my Ableton Live license.   I really, really did.  I did so because:  Abe's upgrade fees are exorbitant, for what you get; I really do not need Abe, I've got SONAR!!  and Renoise...

Sonar = The software I have because I need, "a daw...."  Renoise is a tracker, and Sonar rounds out my studio.

Regardless:  When I sold Abe Live, I did not post a, "goodbye thread," on the Ableton Forums.

And I had hundreds of posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Daw is not the problem, It's the person using it that's the problem.

First of all, Sonar X2 is not the reason a Professional Studio is down for 7 days.

Second, the OP is not here looking for help.

If the studio DAW is not working, I can guarantee the studio will not be down for 1 day, let alone 7 days.

A major system problem (which would include hardware failure) is resolved in 30 minutes or less in most circumstances.
#1  -  I agree, it is how Sonar has been set up, or hardware, driver issues.

#2  -  I don't know the OP, so I can't comment, but I've learnt to give people the benefit of the doubt first.  If I can help him enjoy and make a living with Sonar like I, and many others do, then it's worth a try before I ridicule him.

#3  -  I am not commenting on the OP's choice of using a relatively new version of a DAW in a Pro studio, without contingency plans.  Would I?   -No.  But I have made a few daft decisions in my life, and am grateful for the people who have bailed me out, rather than poured scorn on me for them.

#4  -  I wish that that were true.  You are a very lucky man if that is your experience.

Now, this OP may just be a noob venting frustration, or someone with genuine troubles.  I'd like to help them, whichever.

Now, they could be a troll.  He's been here since 2009, so I'll give him a chance, before I treat him like a t%@!.

Just my tuppence worth..

+ many many many, John.

Bub is not alone in this.  Mcq and a few others need to wake up and move on.

It would make them, and us, much more content.

I know I keep saying this, but some dullards never listen - "If you can't hold an adult attitude in front of something, then walk away."

Being child-like is not a bad thing, being childish is.  Bub can now put his fingers in his ears and go "Wah wah wah" and block me.  This is to be expected.

I miss his old avatar, it so suited him..

Why bother? He only has 2 posts so he's probably from gearsluts.

Look at his name. He's probably from gearsluts.

as pointed out, a studio down for 7 days?

Hyperbole, or a frustrated noob?

Just because he sounds like he's from gearsluts, doesn't mean we need to act like we are, does it?  Not straight away, surely?  Maybe we should all move there.  My original posts were about benefit of the doubt, innocent 'til proven guilty.  Stupid idea, I'm of to gs..
