I posted this over in the VS-700 forum but no one got onto it, so I ask here.
 
X1d used to auto-scroll the console view to display the active channel strip if changed by pushing a channel select button on a control surface or by selecting a track in the track view. X2a does no longer do this and requires using the mouse in larger projects which hurts the workflow ...
 
Is there a setting that reactivates that auto-scroll or is it simply broken and should be reported?
 
Is there a way to manually scroll the console view (using buttons on a control surface, MIDI messages, or QWERTY keyboard shortcuts) so that I do not need the mouse?
 
 
 
 

Hmmm, looks like everyone has quadruple screens these days and scrolling is no longer required

Also if I select a specific track in SONAR X2 with the mouse I like to setup so the CONSOLE view on my second monitor scroll to the specific track automatic. Imagine you have a project with over +100 tracks. You can imagine how much scrolling it is "all day long" scrolling CONSOLE view with mouse in X2.

I haven't come across anything like what you are describing yet but two workarounds might be:

1) Use screensets (not sure if this will work)

2) Use the Console's Track Manager (Click the Console's Strip tab > Track Manager or press H) to hide any strips that aren't currently needed. You can also hide tracks by selecting them and pressing Ctrl + H. You can then recall those tracks (even the tracks hidden in the Track Manager) by pressing Shift + H. To undo this move use the Undo Zoom feature (Ctrl + Z). You can redo the previous move by Pressing Alt + Shift + Z. You get up to 16 undo zoom moves. See page 319 of the manual for a chart including these functions.

I'll see if I can dig up anything else.

Oh jeez. What am I thinking. You can simply click on a track strip in the Console View then use the left/right arrows to cycle through the strips. Derp... forgot about that one. Need tea. ;-)

When I move focus from one track to another in the track view, the console strip in the Console view moves into view. There are functions that can be bound to a key or MIDI for "Move to Next Strip", "Move to Previous Strip", "Move to Next Strips Page" and "Move to Previous Strips Page."

I think there is a Tab + modifier keybinding that does this in the TV as well but I forget and I'm not in front of my DAW.

Unfortunately I can't use the Track Manager features as I'm running a VS-700 which has serious problems with hidden strips (i.e. everything on the right hand side of the first hidden strip cannot be controlled from the surface) ... otherwise this would be the ideal thing ...
 
The zoom undo I have available on the control surface and I can give that a try ...

This is a good one (!) which can temporarily solve the issue. If I bind "Move to Next Strips Page" and "Move to Previous Strips Page" to a button on the VS-700 I can avoid going to the mouse (but I have to sacrifice the functionality of 2 buttons ...)
