My only crit (besides lack of bass) is that everything is so clear because each element is in such a different place/space that it's not quite a cohesive mix iffin you know what I mean.

I did like the piece though.

Hey Bob!  really love this!

would like to hear some bass and your vocals sound like you're "afraid" of the mic (too much room noise and you could use a pop filter) and make them solid in the mix.

love the guitars and drums, love the groove and feel!

Dave(DigiBui), thanks for you comment. I'm inclined to agree on the snare. There are two drum tracks. The train rhythm is pretty tame, but yeah, the snare on the track with the toms is a little harsh for my taste as well. I'm working on settling it down on the next mix.
Bapu, yes, I get what you are saying, especially on the vocal track. It's not in the same space at all.
Thank you for your appraisal.
Beagle, yes I approached the vocals with some degree of trepidation. OK, it was just short of outright terror, but the song needed the words. To be honest, I figured I'd better post it, so I had some commitment before I chickened out entirely.
I'm much more comfortable on the instrumental side of things.
Thanks for your input.

Man I'm glad I stopped in this evening for a listen. Very cool! I too kept waiting for the bass to come in, well actually I finally started to superimpose some simple lines in my head.  And what's up with the dog bite? I just got bit last thurs complimented with 13 stitches in the right hand just behind the thumb in the fat fleshy part. Hurts to play guitar still...

Any way thanks for the great jamming.

Thanks Sixfinger. Glad you liked it. Still trying to make the bass happen. We both work crazy hours.
Bummer on the dog bite, though. They didn't stitch mine, because it was deep, and the risk of infection is high. We just flushed it, kept it clean, and pumped me full of antibiotics.
I did get some flack from the suits in the home office. They couldn't understand why a dog bite warranted time away from the field.
My response,"Drive three 1/4" framing spikes through your hand, then hang an 80# bag of cement mix from them. And bounce it once or twice." They let it go.
I've got permanent nerve damage on the back of my thumb, but everything else is ok.
Good luck on yours. I hope it heals well.

cool stuff!!...I'd only suggest to try and add some depth to the vox...IOW sounds like the kit and guitar are in a big lively room...and the vox is cozy and dry....I like to hear her a bit wetter....

just a thought....

really enjoyed it!

Thanks Tom.
I totally agree on the vox, and am working on a new mix that has it out on the porch with everybody else. Still waiting for Dave to come over and put down some bass.

Very nice groove you got there. Nice to hear you're getting a bass too on this track. Genuine blues feel with that cool vocal and great instrumental work.
