What soft synth are you using and how? Do you have Simple Instrument Track or separate audio and MIDI tracks for the synth? A single MIDI track can't be exported, because MIDI has no audio.

I have used 2 ways:

a) under a MIDI track changed the patch, but this would allow me to export an audio file, as you said.

b) I used Cakewalk Sound Centre Mini Piano, this allows me to export a .wav file. But when I play back the file, there's no sound.

You have to select both the midi track AND the associated audio track for it.

You may need to do something with busses too, but I am not sure.  I always select and export everything.

Yes, if its blank, you are not selecting all tracks associated with the synth.

As far as buses go, you do not need to highlight them or select them. Just select all the tracks in the track view with that synth and you'll be golden

Thanks, CJ - I wasn't quite sure, because I always select everything and do the whole mix.

Thank you every for your kind comments :)

ok this time, I used Cakewalk Sound Centre Mini Piano as the VSTi and output it as .wav and it does have playback sound  ^^
But then I found the bass notes sound louder than I played it.  https://soundcloud.com/sharpshard/test

It sounds like I over-emphasis on my left hand when I was playing it :(

I have turned down the left sound volume, but pretty much sounds the same
