I did it,  Woo Hoo !!  Thanks for the replies guy's they really helped.  Beepster the Event Inspector suggetion was perfect. Scott's video explained it perfectly, and I was able to apply to my project.  It was very simple and exactly what I needed for my work flow.

late to the party another way ( I think) 

Highlight track 

Process/ Transpose/+2 = C3 moves to D3  

But I always use the piano roll and highlight the note and drag. Faster. Forgot about shift key trick that's a good reminder, thanks.

The midi note will only change if it really wants to ... That's what my psychologist always tells me
