Living Room Rocker
Everyone,

I recently bought a Win8  (x64)  laptop with the goods above including a 7200rpm HDD (RAM is DDR3 1600).  I was pumped and expected to have flawless runs with X2a.  I loaded a four audio track project with EQ and compression on most tracks and Amplitube on guitar and bass tracks.  I then tried tweaking a PC2A (with EQ on) in the ProChannel on the Master bus.   To my disappointment, I heard "digital stuttering" while X2 locked up for that short moment.

I was using a Presonus AudioBox with ASIO and playback buffers set to 512MB.  I hope it is the AudioBox, but I am not so sure it isn't SONAR.  I can't imagine I would have to tweak my laptop for SONAR to run smoothly.  After all, it is a very small project.

I've also experienced sliders jumping to max level on the Control View/Panel when mouse clicking on them.  That sucks!  Not to mention that it's impossible to tweak any controls with a mouse.  Not sure if it is a bug or just me.... or maybe my machine.  Ugh!

Have any of you experienced these hiccups with X2a?

I appreciate your feedback.

Kind regards,

Living Room Rocker

P.S.  I've been using SONAR since version 3.

My 2nd gen i7 2630qm 8GBRAM dell xps L502x took quite a while to run smooth even on W7,and after 20months of everyday use its still going strong, but I went through a Tascam US600,and a UA25-EX interfaces[e?] that had me going DOWN to ASIO4all/Realtek for surpisingly good results, for ages, till a N.I.KA6 interface is finally a match made worthy.

Iv'e found adjusting the "gloss eq"whilst a project is running, often brings about a few "breakfast sounds",even when Everything else is peachy.

Sometimes[all the time?] latest and greatest, doesn't always mean smooth sailing unfortunately, hope you get it sorted, and you know the mantra of "high perf" power plan et al.
