Thanks guys, for your help..
I just went out and bought a Logitech wireless touchpad from microcenter, I was able to control the pad movement as I wanted, it worked 1,2,3 but there's really no difference from my trackball , so I will be returning this, I thought I would be able move the xy pad freely which I can but the left button on the pad needs to be depressed and sliding the movement around with one hand while holding down the button dosen't give me the precise movement Im looking for. I can live with the mouse..

WHYZ,

I have the euphonic/avid artist control and I use the V-Control... I don't think that the V-control is quite the same. Not having actual knobs really limits the usefulness of the surface in my opinion. I use it as a wireless remote all the time...

I really love actual knobs for EQ. I can close my eyes and dial in a sound. That's tougher on the V-Control.

just my 2 cents...

No, this isn't our product. It's by Neyrinck and we simply helped them with some SONAR compatibility issues with their product.

SP

Ah gotcha. Does that mean there is no future for SONAR availability on Macs? I'm a happy SONAR user on my Windows 7 system, so its just a matter of curiosity

Neyrinck's compatibility with SONAR really has nothing to do with what OS SONAR runs on now or in the future. Their ipad app is just a control surface app for SONAR, not a DAW or anything like that. As for SONAR running on other OS's in the future, that's not something I can comment on.

SP
Can you comment on whether Cakewalk/Roland will release/have plans to release a dedicated iPad controller for Sonar of their own creation and SPECIFICALLY written for Sonar operation?

i have the 100 if i need real knobs. this will allow me to cover the basics when doing my own recordings. after looking at the vids i cant justify the $3700. to myself let alone my wife. i think this fits exactly what i need in my setup.

It's just a different way of operating and you just have to get use to it.

Neb,
I with you on the difference, to me it's just not as easy. I found hand placement was very critical when operating the V-Control for things other than faders and transport.

WHYZ,
It sounds like a great combo use both together. I don't have $3700 laying around to blow on a interface/surface either...

I really can't live without my Ipad in general. I use it for the video side of my business for many, many tasks... Teleprompter, slate, on-set shot logging, back-focus chart, and more.

I use it for V-Control and a scratch pad for demo's before I record in the big DAW on the audio side.

Anyway... have fun with the new setup!

Cheers,
Dave

i gots the doe but im a little Scroogy lol. for me the iPad solution is just a better fit cause i do all of my recordings myself, so the fact that its mobile is huge. i really want the 700 BUT this just makes more sense to me. again i still have real knobs on the 100 plus its really solid!

Now I'm actually considering buying an iPad for this app alone.
My question is can I get away with the smallest GB pad or does it require the 32 or 64 version?

Is there an app like this for the iPhone 4s? I really only want it for arming a track and transport control.
