Hi, I'm having big troubles with Sonar. I can't ear any sound, with soft synths but with inserted wav file too. I'm pretty sure that it's about audio configuration problems. I can see levels moving, the music plays but no sound. If I switch to MME, internal sound card, I can hear music. Does anyone have a way of solving that problem. I'm completely stuck with a work to do. If I close Sonar and open Finale for composing, I have sound without any problem ! There's a problem between Sonar and my Layla. Thanks for your help.

Go to your audio options and see if the Layla is checked in the drivers tab, Another common reason is your master bus is not set to output to the layla. Switching to the on board will often times confuse Sonar. In Windows control panel set the layla as the default and disable the on board card in the Device Manager. PCI interfaces really don't like on board cards in there.

Ive had similar probs even in X1 with this symptom.

To close out and re-launch X1 has been my fix. Not sure what the fix was for it.

Recently installed all new HDD and all software. Not sure if I loaded the same MAudio driver that I had before but I havent experienced it since the repairs.

But closing and reopening was what I had to do.

If I recall I could duplicate it by adjusting any memory intensive plugs or adjust ProChannel while the Transport was in motion.  All meters and indicators showed music playing, just no sound out of monitors.

Good point Jack. That happens from time to time. FOr me it's when I open a file I first recorded on my other computer. Sonar is first looking for the other interface so often changes the Master output to SPDIF. OP must have solved this issue anyhow.
