Here is a new one that is my attempt at R&B/Jazz:

My only regret is that I wish I were a better guitar player. There were some spots that could have used some wailing...

Any comments/suggestions are always appreciated. Enjoy!

Dan, that's a beautiful piece man. I really want to learn to create this kind of sound. The mix is very nice.

You could put some wailing guitar int it I suppose. But it's a nice tasty little piece that stands on it's own just fine in my opinion.

Dan,

Wouldn't change much about this mix except maybe boost that sax a little bit.  Sounds really good and a great song.  I like all the sound effects you have going in and out of the production.   Really adds some nice textures.   Very good listen.

I like the flavor, melody, and texture of this song.  It's like fine cooking with a good bottle of wine.  I'm sorry to be so short on words, but this song doesn't need many.

Thanks for that. I am a little self-conscious about my guitar playing because I am so out of practice. Used to be better in my youth, but what isn't, lol. Glad you liked the mix. Just know that Sonar is as great tool, as good as anything else out there.

That's funny. I actually pushed the sax back a lot more than where it started. I wanted it as a solo instrument at first. Then, as the mix was coming together, I really thought that it sounded better in the back with all of the other horns. Now, I hear it, but i don't HEAR it, if you know what I mean. Thanks for the compliment on the song, I tried to be a little more traditional on this one. As for the sound effects, I learned a lot on my last song about adding those textures. I was surprised at just how much flavor they added to the mix, so now I'm hooked. I'll try to control myself... I still have to force myself to back off on reverbs, a love them so much, lol.

Dan

I don't know if this is really R&B/Jazz, but who cares, it sounds beautiful Dan. I wouldn't worry about your guitar playing either, you have some lovely phrasing in here. Very lush soundscape, enjoyed that.

It started off as a bluesy/R&B style tune, but it morphed a bit before I was done. I'm not sure what it is at this point either, lol. Thanks for the listen and your comments!

It sounds nice here, it is not so much your guitar playing that I was wondering about more the three armed drummer .

The mix translates very well here, thanks for sharing.
