HoRNet has released WahWah, another tool in the guitar effect collection.
The HoRNet WahWah is a digital replica of a vintage effect from the 70s made famous by guitarist and keyboard players around the world. This pedal represents a real signature sound for funky music and is an essential tool in every guitar player's setup.
HoRNet faithfully recreated the sound of the pedal starting from the analysis of the circuit diagram, then simulated it and measured the response. After having created a good sounding wah effect by itself they added an envelope follower that will let you modulate the "wah" sound with attack and release set independently so you will be able to have a sort of "auto wah".
Features:
  • Classic wah-wah effect emulation.
  • Analog saturation.
  • Auto wah with attack and release.
  • Mac OS X (>=10.5 Intel only) and Windows support.
  • 64-bit compatibility both on Mac and Windows.
  • Audio Units VST2.4, VST3, RTAS and AAX format.
Price: 5,99€ on www.hornetplugins.com or just 2,39€ if you own the complete bundle.

I'll probably buy this one. I don't have (or have I found) a decent auto wah. There is one with Amplitube which is good for some things, but it's a bit difficult to find the sweet spot with it. I can't remember the name at the moment, but it was a custom shop item.
Hornet has a few gems in their collection. This may be one of them.

TBH, I never entertained the idea of using the "auto wah"........I always thought that the real wah is something you have to have the "feel" and your foot needs to do the work.

Do you have to tweak a lot of settings to get the Auto wah to respond? Just curious...

I mostly use the Sonitus with the manual mode setting. For me, using auto wah setting takes a combination of tweaking the plug-in and playing style. Best when used as a very subtle filter effect.

Well I must admit, I didn't realize the Sonitus plugins had a wah. Duh!
