A Goniometer helps you to judge the coherence of the stereo image. Phase problems  are easily spotted as trace cancellations along the center line. You can still have great stereo but also great mono compatibility and this meter will let you know if that is the case.

Ohhhh....I use that all the time but I've always just heard it called  a vectorscope. Hunh...guess there's always new things to learn.

Thanks!

I use a compressor and/or console emulator of some sorts to give a small amount of glue and color, depending on the mix.  Might be a vintage Fairchild-style to a clean comp... just AB some until it makes the mix pop. I'll prob have an eq mostly for hi-pass and lo-pass if needed.  I like the metering plug from T-Racks cause I can watch the spectrum, phase, peak and RMS to keep it reasonable as a final mix before it goes to master.

When laying down tracks the concrete limiter so my monitors don't explode.

When all the audio is in the machine I take out concrete limiter and put in Ozone

I have to agree with all the folks that say Ozone 5 (or 4). It is a bit on the expensive side, but holy cow, the difference it makes in the final mix is astounding. When I A/B Ozone, when it's in bypass (the original mix), it actually sounds sucky by comparison. There are some efx plugins where you A/B the results and can barely hear any difference, but with Ozone, just using some of the default templates, it's like night and day. In general, I love iZotope products, I have Nectar for vocals and Alloy 2 for mixing. They are definitely my go-to mixing and mastering plugins!
