In order to get rid of noise between guitar chords from the amplifier, I opened the track i Loop Construction View. I want cut it in slices but almost everything is greyed out. Why is that?

Isn't this where "Remove Silence" would come in handy? I have never used the Loop Construction View so I have nothing to offer there, sorry.

Might have better results using a gain envelop and/or the Sonitus Gate or ProChannel Expander/Gate.

You're just trying to crop out noise? I do that in the Track View.

Thank you guys. Yes, I do use the Sonitus Gate, effective but still...:-/

That is why I would try the clip gain first. You can get very good results with envelops. You really do not need a gate.

The Loop Construction view is for working with Groove clips (loops). It's not really used for audio editing. You're better off doing that directly in the track view. You can use a volume envelope to automate selections... see this video...

Or you can just split the clip into pieces and remove the pieces of noise. Position your mouse over the clip where you want to split it, hold Alt, and left-click to split with the Smart tool. You can also just click in the clip to place the Now time at the spot and press S to split.

That used to confuse me to. Double clicking on a wave opened the loop constructor which looks like a handy place to do basic editing... but alas it most certainly is not. ;-)

Thanks again! Yes, I probably split the track manually and delete those noisy sections.

But it SHOULD be.  IMHO, this is still a shortcoming of Sonar.  It cries out for a better wave editor.   I'm not saying a full-blown one, but a better one.
Yeah, you can connect to something like SoundForge, and yeah, you can do some edits in Track mode, but it could be more like Logic's Wave editor.
