Wow! Thanks a lot! Just, how do I get rid of the grid and markers from Audiosnap?

You have to do steps 1 and 3 again.

OR you can right-click the clip header and choose Split Clip(s) at AudioSnap Pool while the Edit Filter is still set to Audio Transients and then change the Edit Filter back to Clips.

There's a little quicker method with audiosnap as well.......

1. Change edit filter to "Audiosnap Transients"
2. Click on clip and open Audiosnap Palette if not already open(Press A)
3. Change resolution as required
4. Click on the "Split Clip into Beats" in the palette
5. Change filter back to clips

That's not a quicker method, it's a different method. It doesn't do the same thing as I described above. The method you described splits at the transient markers, not at the exact beats. The method I described uses the snap resolution to determine where splits will occur... on the exact beat no matter the location of the transient markers.

Good point but I was assuming the beats were on time.

I assumed the OP was wanting to remove silence between the beats the transients are where he'd want the split to happen. Perhaps I'm confused about what he's trying to do.

You're right FBB. I did try both methods (also split clip into beats) and that finally crashed Sonar. I had to record many guitar pieces all over again :-( and ended up just using the sonitus gate anyway. The thing with slicing the clips was to make the duration of the guitar chords even but I gave that up...

It's this tune by the way: https://www.box.com/s/9qlj02yqwyg9a18v4alv

The end chord from the guitar couldn't fade out because of the gate but that's another problem. Have to check my guitar cords and connections.
