  • Is the Step Record function (not the Step Sequencer) in Sonar buggy? (p.2)

Definitely. Just gotta figure out what the best way of doing things is. Audio is easy for me because I've done tons of that. MIDI... not so much. I'm also picking up tons of little shortcuts and techniques so that's cool.

As I move through the manual there is a lot of repetition though so it's kind of speeding up... however I cannot just skip over sections because even sections that seem to be completely repeating the tuts or stuff described before hand has nuggets of info stuffed in there. That's a little annoying but I guess repetition is a good way to learn as well.

Meh... it'll be worth it.

Cheers.

Well hopefully I'll be able to answer questions with a little more accuracy after... so that's something.

Might make my notes available to the forum too.... but they're pretty crazy. lol

I  used to use Step Record, but switched to Step Sequencer.  I did learn the other day that Step Sequencer does not like drum maps - open bug, in an email I got from tech support.

Hi, Bob. I seem to recall the SS behaving in a similar way when set up for step record so maybe that will be less buggy. Still haven't reached any in depth explanations of the SS or the PRV in the manual though... even though some topics have been repeated 2 or 3 times already. I'm sure it'll come up eventually though. Right now I'm at the SECOND full entry on editing. lol
