There are times when TRUTH is indistinguishable from PERCEPTION by others; in practical affect.  This is where leaders often fail, IMO.  What I mean by that is that they fail to OWN the perception(s) others have of them, attempting to wash perceptions away with simple words.  That doesn't work.  We all should own the perception others have of us.  After all, it's our own actions/words/associations that give rise to those perceptions to begin with.

''O would some power the giftie give us, to see ourselves as others see us!''

Whatever you believe to be true, you are probably wrong, in part or in whole. Truth is where we stop when we've grown tired of thinking about something.

Or were too lazy to think about it to begin with and just accepted someone else's conclusion in the belief that they weren't as lazy as us.

Whether a billion people believe it or one person does, that has no bearing on whether something is true. Truth does not care what you think.

Of course, I could be making all this up.

WhaHey...an interesting conversation. Who'd a thunk it?

While I'm more of a science guy, I still remember what my grandmom used to say, "truth is just the stuff you don't want to admit to". Over simplified though it may be...there's quite a bit of "truth" in it.
