Look more like gnorkgggh eggs to me. To distinguish the two, put them in the microwave for 147 seconds on high and see if they thieieiworb. Shallots will just get hot or blow up.

Funny.  I was searching in grocery stores for dried shallots recently.  Not a single produce department person knew WTF a shallot is.
